The Game Plan

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Just as a football fan is keenly aware of the time left on the game clock, Americans in general should acknoweldge that time is running out for the nation as we’ve known it. Ed De Boer explored this theme — and the crucial role of nature — in an essay aired on “Return to Eden” on February 9, 2008. ~ Walter Stormont

Well, Super Sunday has come and gone. So much ado about a game. This reminds me of the story of Ancient Rome, where they had bread and games while Rome was collapsing into corruption, because people were more interested in the pleasures of today than the promise of tomorrow.

This scene has been replayed as long as history has been recorded, proving that men will learn that they learn not from history. And every generation apparently has to make its own mistakes. Our current generation has let its errors pile up to the point where eventually society is overwhelmed by those mistakes, and people are too wrapped up in themselves to realize what’s going on, “For every man did what was right in his own eyes.”

This pretty much sums up the entire history of mankind while, all this time, there has been a solution which is extremely cost-effective and cannot fail. However, it is seldom or never practiced to the full extent that it works. It’s the only sensible approach, but since we’re dealing with nonsensical people, it has never been tried or maintained.

Right after Super Sunday, we had Super Tuesday. Aptly named, too, because so many people think it’s all just a game. As it is, this election day is merely a simple repetition of man’s folly, in which he gets himself too wrapped up in hype to learn that he hasn’t learned.

The way to achieve the great blessings of a proper solution is a very simple one, but it requires total submission to the Laws of Nature, which are the Laws of God. If you violate one, that is the beginning of man’s downfall.

For the last century in this country, we have specialized in violating the basic principles, and the violation is increasing. We’re doing more and more things that are against the law. And I’m not talking about manmade law, but natural, or perfect, Law.

Even though we are afflicted with imperfection as human beings, it does not mean we can’t obey the Perfect Law. There simply is no other way to live in the pursuit of happiness. Happiness is inside a human being. If you look someplace else, you’ll never find it.

Obedience of the Natural Law creates happy soil, happy plants and happy human beings. You will be a happy human being when you live within the Laws of Nature. The minute you venture outside, you’re heading for trouble.

Integrity, Stability & Beauty

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

On the “Return to Eden” radio program, Ed De Boer would often mention the late American ecologist Aldo Leopold. He was especially partial to the following Leopold quote which was printed in Acres-U.S.A. magazine: “A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the biotic community.” This fit right in with Ed’s philosophy of life, and I always felt he “wished he’d said that.” The following essay was presented on the January 10, 2008 broadcast. ~ Walter Stormont

With the present economic crunch, some good things are going to happen. Bad can always produce good. It will help us return from the insanity of pharmaceutical drugs, for one thing, and artificial crop stimulation, not to mention the misguided, but lucrative, practice of insect suppression. These things are in total violation of the laws of nature. By using artificial manmade concoctions, all we’ve had is an increase in our problems.

And just as a reminder, we might want to reacquaint ourselves with the architect of the natural system, the Lord God. We have been attempting to live without Him, and are learning now that without integrity, there cannot be stability. As Solomon said, “the integrity of the upright shall guide them… the perverseness of the transgressors will destroy them.”

It seems that the United States government insists on continuing down the road to destruction, at the insistence of the American voter. I think it is time for us to realize that the government will do it, we have to suffer it, and we have to pay for it.

There is no such requirement if we turn away from this road to destruction. Gandhi said, “We may utilize the gifts of nature just as we choose, but in her books the debts are always equal to the credits.” It’s too bad Gandhi wasn’t an American. We are in desperate need of people who think like him.

We also seem to have forgotten that we were told not to be concerned about our food and our drink and what we should wear. Christ said, “For after all those things, do the gentiles seek. Your heavenly father knows that you have need of all these things… but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these thing shall be added unto you.” There you will find integrity, stability and beauty. Integrity and perversion cannot coexist.

In simple terms, you obey the rules and play the game, you succeed. You violate the rules, you always lose. And all the guns and all the bombs in the world cannot change that. It is so simple to comprehend that… why don’t we? Why do we insist on believing lies, and reject the Truth?

“The perverseness of their transgressions shall destroy them.” (Proverbs 11:3)

The Price of Liberty

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Here are Ed’s comments from the September 15, 2007 broadcast of  “Return to Eden.”  They offer much to contemplate as we  observe Veteran’s Day.

Many Americans don’t know what is happening or what their government is doing to them.  We take it for granted that this is the land of freedom and that we enjoy the fruits of liberty.  We forgot that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

Today we have brave young men and women who are standing in the breach to defend that liberty.  They are the sons and daughters of liberty who deserve our undying support and admiration, and our prayers.  They are facing the enemy outside of our borders.  They will prevail.

However, we have an enemy within our borders, an enemy of stealth, for they pretend to be Americans while their deeds are destructive to the very fiber of America… and yet they claim to be patriots.  Patriots need not proclaim their patriotism.  Their deeds speak for them.

All those proclaiming patriotism and honesty do so because their deeds declare that they are not.  This is not just a trait in politicians.  Corporate America is deeply involved in disseminating lies, falsehoods and seed in corruption for monetary profit and gain.  All those not knowing the Truth fall easily prey to the deceitful gain of gradual deception, corruption, counterfeiting and abandoning of the Constitution and the principles on which it is based.  They are leading this nation down the path of destruction.

To sum it up: Congress has failed us; even the church has failed us; business has failed us; we have failed ourselves because we did not vote for principle, but we voted for fast-talking politicians who promised but never delivered.  In 1980, I told one aspiring candidate for the U.S. House that it was impossible to improve things from the top down.  Recently, he had to step down from his lofty seat in the U.S. Senate.  In those 27 years, things have seriously deteriorated in the U.S.A.

More and more, we have become a people of the government, by the government and for the government… the image (or opposite) of what we once were: government of the people, by the people, for the people.  Our founding fathers sought God’s help, and we have dismissed Him.  If we want to return to the faith of our fathers, we must do it from the ground up, because it is the only way it will work, for it is built through personal responsibility and faith in God.

“You shall serve the Lord your God, and I shall bless your bread and I shall bless your water; and I will take illness out of the midst of you.”  That promise was spoken thousands of years ago and is still as valid as the day it was spoken.

To the Ugly American

Friday, November 6th, 2009

During our lunch and “show-prep” at the DoubleTree last summer, a flustered Ed De Boer reeled off the following essay in response to Sarah Palin’s announcement that she would step down as Governor of Alaska. He let me read it to the audience during the July 11, 2009 broadcast of “Return to Eden.” If only I could have recited it with the same passion Ed displayed when dictating it to me. ~ Walter Stormont

Today I’m going to say a thing or two about the despicable attitude of the American people, especially when it comes to the media. They let such vile swine continue to conduct themselves in the way they are. Here is a woman, Sarah Palin, who shows that she’s got qualities that are to be envied… as a human being, as a wife, as a mother, and as a political leader.

And now the media has succeeded in chasing her from office. For the American people to stand by and let this happen, my comment is, America, I’m not going to tell you to go to hell… you are headed there on your own.

It is my hope and prayer that you’re going to regret it. Not only are you allowing the political lynching of a great human being, but you are destroying your own country. Sarah Palin embodies the American spirit, and America, with your failure to protest her plight, you are nothing but a lowlife bunch of scoundrels like you would find in any communist or socialist country.

I want to tell you, that I have been saying a prayer every day for Sarah Palin since the first time I saw her at the Republican National Convention last year (and God knows I’m not a Republican), and I’ll continue to pray for her every day.

On the day of her announcement, I sent Governor Palin a letter telling her what I just told you, and I included the following poem, “The Right Choice”…

Keep your eye on the ball
And you’ll always stand tall.
In everything you do,
Keep one thing forever in view:
The Truth; eternally your Friend,
Will see you through till the end.
Come rain, come shine, even or odd,
Your life will not have been for naught.
Do not follow the opinions of men
Who know not where they go or have been,
But choose all the things that you ought,
And humbly walk on the side of your God.

America seems to worship that which is vile. We see it in television programs and news programs and in entertainment.

If America had any backbone, it would be impossible for the bloggers and the so-called newsmen and entertainers to find an audience or a paper in which to peddle their vicious wares. Americans, if you want to redeem yourself, then block the following television channels — ABC, CBS, NBC, and of course CNN — which have engaged in this vile and despicable conduct. Cancel all subscriptions to the papers that are guilty of this behavior.

If you do not do such, then let us never hear you pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States and the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, because your god has a set of horns… and I will greatly rejoice for you to meet him.

We are suffering under a conspiracy of destruction, and we can stop it as a nation. If we don’t, then we have to suffer the consequences.

Sarah Palin is the devil’s greatest enemy.

The only true value on earth is individual freedom, which can only be earned through personal responsibility. In order for man to achieve this great prize, he must first conquer himself, for no man can be free until he knows he is bound by the Eternal Laws which put no restraint or limitations on man but teach him self-restraint. Only the man who has learned to govern himself is capable (but often most reluctant) to govern others.

Dear Politician

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

In looking back on some of the writings left behind by Ed De Boer, I came across this draft of a letter from almost two years ago. Ed’s plan was to send it to as many of our “representatives” as possible. Enjoy! ~ Walter Stormont

November 6, 2007

Dear (Politician),

In a system based on fraud, Truth is the enemy. To wit:

  • We have allowed our government to destroy the family farmer by regulating him to death. Through mega-farms and the application of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, our farm soils are depleted, resulting in degradation of our national health. This has caused the destruction of our political system, and it was accomplished by incurring a public and private debt in excess of $150 trillion. And you want us to vote for you again?
  • We continue to profess to be “one nation under God” while violating every last one of His commandments and not keeping any of His statutes.
  • The U.S. dollar, which once commanded the respect of the entire world, is today paying homage to virtually every other currency on Earth.
  • We have violated all of God’s advice given in the book of Deuteronomy, and then we have the audacity to say “In God We Trust.” We have done a fantastic job of fooling ourselves and each other, but God’s not buying it. Neither am I.

“It is very easy to point out the problems,” you may be thinking, “But why don’t you tell me the solution?” Okay… here goes:

I quote God, from 2 Chronicles 7:13: “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Look at where we are today… that’s what we have wrought without God. We certainly didn’t start out that way. We can involve God, or there will be nothing. Take your pick!

Sincerely,

Ed De Boer
